In a world that currently feels more like The Twilight Zone or The Upside Down, there are a few things that are very clear and have been anchoring us in this unknown. One of those pieces of clarity is that we are to share this journey with you. I won’t assume that God has put that on our hearts for anyone but ourselves, but if you find that you want to follow along, you are invited.

The idea of being vulnerable to pull back the curtain on our ups and downs with something so raw and unexpected is a different kind of scary than hearing words like “glioblastoma”. This requires its own brand of faith.Yet we have no doubt that it’s important we position ourselves in this space of openness. This is where He is and this is what He is doing. That is always where we desire to be.

The Lord has been telling me to write for several years.I’ve started and stopped. I’ve struggled with what to say and in what medium to share it, if at all.

What I did understand was that this writing would become a form of authentic storytelling—helping myself and others recognize the goodness of God in their own lives. I was to be prepared to be very vulnerable because it was going to be personal. Not going to lie, I came up with many more desirable topics to write about than the storyline we find ourselves in today. It appears, though, that God knew all along this stretch of road was already ahead of us…and He was preparing us for such a time as this.

There are so many other things that Justin, myself, and many of our loved ones have been preparing for (unknowingly) these chapters of our story. God IS good. He knew exactly how to prepare us for today and in His kindness kept the details to Himself so we could grow, train, and prepare without distraction.

So, you are invited to read along, walk along, pray along, cry along, laugh along, and maybe even partner along with us as we live a story full of stories that speak to His Goodness. We are purposed to live these hard chapters with as much passion, grace, fortitude, and love as we possibly can…no matter how messy some pages may be or what outcomes we encounter along the way.

We trust The Author and yield to His pen.
